Diesel is a light petroleum product, a complex mixture of hydrocarbons. It is mainly blended from the diesel fraction produced by crude oil distillation, catalytic cracking, thermal cracking, hydrocracking, petroleum coking, etc. It can also be produced from shale oil processing and coal liquefaction.
Diesel can become the most mainstream truck fuel at present. It has the advantages of easy replenishment, stable price and strong power. Compared with gasoline with an ignition point of around 430℃, diesel has a low ignition point and is not easy to volatilize.
Natural gas mainly refers to the combustible gas buried underground. Its main component is methane, also known as gas. As a fossil fuel, natural gas is also widely used to provide energy for vehicles. At present, the mainstream natural gas vehicles include CNG and LNG. It can be understood from the literal meaning that CNG and LNG are essentially natural gas but in different forms.
Compared with diesel trucks of the same type, CNG and LNG have lower fuel costs. In high-cold areas, CNG and LNG models will not be unable to start due to low temperatures, and the transportation reliability is higher.
LNG has higher energy density, stronger power, longer cruising range, and is more suitable for long-distance transportation. LNG storage tanks are also smaller in weight and volume, and basically do not take up additional space.
